The Gospel

Our Good News Declaration

The Captive Project Church & Ministries is dedicated to sharing the transformative power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing hope and healing to the marginalized and victimized in high-crime areas. Anchored in the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:17—’Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!’—we are motivated by Christ’s love and a commitment to dignity and respect for all. We offer long-term, life-on-life support to empower those affected by drugs and violence towards a life of freedom and fulfillment. Through our dedication to the Gospel’s message of love and redemption, we aim to transform lives and communities.

Why we make this declaration?

We are vigilant against the risk that familiarity with the Gospel may breed complacency or lead to its dilution. Altering the Gospel, whether by addition or omission, threatens its profound ability to transform lives within our churches and ministries.

Taking for granted the core principles that underpin our work, and shifting focus to seemingly more immediate issues, poses a significant danger. Our commitment is to continuously rejuvenate these fundamental truths, ensuring they resonate with contemporary contexts. This approach enables disciples of the Captive Project to actively engage with and uphold the Gospel’s essence. Without this dedication, the vital truths of the Gospel risk being overshadowed by life’s cacophony, diminishing their transformative power.
